Swati has worked for some of the most successful professional services companies in the world, helping them improve their competitive positioning and grow market share. Firmseek clients benefit from Swati's intimate knowledge of the outsourcing patterns of large corporations and the competitive landscape within the professional services sector. Notably, she was a contributor to "A More Perfect Union: Extracting Greater Value Through Improved Outside Counsel Relationships," a General Counsel Roundtable publication by the Corporate Executive Board.
A recognized marketing and technology innovator, Swati has frequently been asked to join leading experts in addressing technology and business development issues before various groups. She has addressed the University of Virginia E-commerce Program, The Legal Times in-house counsel forum, the National Legal Marketing Association (as well as local chapters), the Indian CEO High Tech Council, and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
Swati spent many years as an attorney at Paul, Weiss, one of the world's leading law firms. While there, she served on the recruiting committee and was active in client development matters. She has held top leadership positions in organizations such as the Indian American Bar Association and Yale Law School and received various recognitions, including the Outstanding Pro Bono Lawyering Award from the Florida Supreme Court. Swati is an alumnus of MindShare, an invitation-only program for business leaders from the most promising high-tech companies in the DC area. Swati is a member of the Marketing Advisory Committee for DC Legal Aid. She currently serves on the board of Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, widely acknowledged as "Washington's most daring theatre company" (The New York Times) and "[T]he hottest theatre company in town" (The Washington Post). She also serves on the Yale Law School Association Executive Committee and on the DC Legal Aid Marketing Advisory Committee.
Swati received a J.D. from Yale Law School (where she continues to serve as class secretary and occasional reunion chair) and a B.A. with high distinction and high honors in Economics from the University of Michigan.
Miguel brings a tremendous depth of technological knowledge and experience to Firmseek clients. Building on ten years of experience managing web servers and developing interactive online applications, Miguel has been active in web development since the release of the first graphical browser in 1993. Miguel has developed software and built networking infrastructure for numerous companies, including IGC, a pioneering international Internet service provider. He has provided web, networking and design consulting for clients worldwide, including Time, SmartMoney, the Wall Street Journal, News Corporation, NatWest, and Wells Fargo. Prior to joining Firmseek, he managed web infrastructure development, content planning, and formulated policy for webmasters at the National Institutes of Health, an institution with one of the most accessed web sites in the world. Having worked directly with numerous Firmseek clients, Miguel brings a valuable depth of understanding as to how to best apply Internet applications to meet our clients' marketing and communication needs.
In recognition of Miguel's technical expertise, Addison-Wesley, a publisher of computer books, selected him to serve as a technical reviewer. Miguel's work with the Internet has also taken him around the world. On assignment for the U.S. Department of State, he analyzed the impact of the Internet on Saudi Arabia. Miguel's talents have been widely recognized, earning - among other awards - several prestigious Gold Circles from the Columbia School of Journalism's annual national review of print design. Miguel holds an M.A. from Yale and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
As a leader in the marketing and technology field, Janice Ugaki has spoken throughout the country to C-Suite executives regarding best practices to leverage technology for business development. She frequently joins leading experts in addressing technology and business issues, including testifying on Capitol Hill before the National Foundation of Women Legislators, Communications, Media and IT Policy Committee.
Janice is a national expert in the professional services industry and provides strategic business development and marketing advice to numerous law, accounting and consulting firms. Over the past 19 years, she has led teams in implementing large-scale integrated marketing and technology projects, including some of the largest law firms in the world.
Before joining Firmseek, Janice worked in the corporate departments of law firms in Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Salt Lake City. Janice received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah with an Honors B.S. in Finance, an Honors B.A. in Political Science, and a minor in Japanese.
Outside of work, Janice serves on a broad range of non-profit boards in two areas she feels passionately about: healthcare and education. She is on the Board of Trustees for Intermountain Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit healthcare systems, and also serves on the Park City Hospital Governing Board and Chairs the Park City Hospital Foundation Board. Janice is a member of the University of Utah’s National Advisory Council, co-chairs the University of Utah Honors College National Advisory Board, served on the University of Utah’s College of Science Advisory Board, and is an Adjunct Professor in the Honors College where she teaches an Honors Leadership Colloquium. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees and as Vice-President for the Association of American Rhodes Scholars, is the Administrator for the American Trust for Oxford University, and serves as an Executive Board Member of the Park City Education Foundation.
